COLUMBUS, Ohio - Senior Lindsay Weigle and 2005 IU graduate Cassandra Cardinell competed in the platform on Thursday, Dec. 21, the final day of competition at the World Championship Selection Camp I.
Cardinell finished fifth on her first list and fourth on her second. Weigle was sixth on the first list and fifth on the second.
USA Diving is not releasing the scores for the events, as the selection process to advance to the next camp weighs several other factors, including consistency, average scores, projected scores and degree of difficulty.
Weigle and Cardinell, as well as senior Heather Chapman and junior Christina Loukas, represented Indiana at the camp, which started Dec. 17.
"Overall, we had some good and some bad," Indiana diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber said. "I thought Christina had a very good week. We've got to go home and work on some things and get ready for the next camp."
USA Diving will announce who advances to the Jan. 21-25 selection camp within the next few days. The FINA World Championships will take place in Melbourne, Australia, from March 18-25.
The 13th-ranked Hoosiers (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) return to action on Jan. 12-13, when they will face Illinois, Michigan and Notre Dame in Ann Arbor, Mich.
