Loukas, Summerlin, Weigle Advance to Three-Meter Finals at Zones

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sophomore Christina Loukas, classmate Jade Summerlin and junior Lindsay Weigle each advanced to finals of the three-meter competition at the 2006 Zone C Diving Championships in Columbus, Ohio, on March 11.
Weigle earned the fourth-most points out of prelims with a 299.25. Her best dive came in the first round with a forward 2.5 somersault from a pike position for 52.80 points.
Meanwhile, Loukas scored the seventh-highest tally with a 284.80. She nailed a reverse 1.5 somersault with 2.5 twists in the fifth round for 62.35 points.
Summerlin tied for 18th with a 251.55 after opening her day with a first-round forward 2.5 somersault from a pike position for 46.80 points. She will have some work to do to qualify for the NCAA Championships. The top five advance from three-meter, and Julie Broms of Ohio State holds the final transfer spot with a 296.30.
In other Hoosier action, sophomore Ashley Greene finished just outside of finals with a 20th-place 248.30, while senior Heather Chapman placed 25th with 240.25 points.
