Miller Snares Pair of Titles at Indiana Senior State

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - Freshman A.J. Miller closed out a stellar day at the 2006 Indiana Senior State Championships in Crawfordsville, Ind., on March 11 with a pair of event titles.
In the 500-yard freestyle, incoming freshman Christopher Head finished 10th with a 4:45.13 after posting a 4:46.43 in preliminary action.
In the 100-yard backstroke, signee Drew Sease placed 14th with a 54.86 after clocking a 53.64 in prelims. Additionally, fellow incoming freshman Tyler McGowan touched 22nd with a 55.66 after posting a 55.86 in morning action.
In other preliminary competition, Miller recorded the top-qualifying time with a personal-best 50.65. That time now makes him the 19th-fastest Hoosier of all time.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Miller claimed the crown with a 2:03.59 after notching a 2:06.22 in prelims. He followed that up with a win in the 200-yard IM by touching first in 1:52.11. Miller also offered a 1:51.99 effort in prelim action.
Meanwhile, Sease placed seventh in 1:59.13, while McGowan finished 18th in 1:58.60. Notably, freshman Matt O'Neal shattered his personal best with a 2:04.64 to take 44th place.
