Hoosiers Compete Well at Diet Pepsi Invite

GAINESVILLE, Fla.--The Indiana women's track and field team turned in solid performances at the Diet Pepsi Invite in Gainesville, Fla., on April 1. Lindsey Heisler was the highest finisher for the Hoosiers, as she tossed a 34.89m mark in the javelin to take a sixth-place finish.
On the men's side Wil Fleming took a first-place finish in the men's weight throw with a heave of 63.84m to win the event. The mark also met the regional qualifying standard.
Two other Hoosiers met the standard, as Kyle Jenkins took a second-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 15.25m, Ryan Ketchum was fifth in the discus with a mark of 52.65m
Indiana returns to action next weekend, when it hosts its first outdoor meet of the 2006 season, the Indiana Relays on April 7-8 at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex.
