BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana plays host to its final home regatta of the season as No. 18 Minnesota and No. 19 Oregon State come to town. The event will take place at Lake Lemon in Bloomington, Ind., on April 15. The regatta will also serve as the final regular-season tune up for the Hoosiers before the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., on April 29.
NOVICE MAKING HUGE IMPACT
With one more regular-season regatta on the ledger, the novice has made an impact on IU's record book. Both novice eights have set school standards for head-to-head victories in a season as the first novice 8 owns an 8-2 record this season. That win total surpassed the previous program standard of seven set in 2003-04.
Meanwhile, the second novice 8 boasts a 7-2 resume of its own. That win total far eclipses the previous school standard of three set in 2001-02.
FIRST VARSITY 4 BREAKS RECORD
With a 4-6 record so far this season, the first varsity 4 set the school record for head-to-head victories in first varsity 4 races. The previous standard of three stood since 2001-02.
FIRST VARSITY 8 TIES RECORD
The first varsity 8 matched last year's school record of eight head-to-head triumphs with a similar 8-5 ledger so far this season. The Hoosiers have one last chance to break the record with an April 15 regatta against No. 18 Minnesota and No. 19 Oregon State.
NEXT UP
The Hoosiers head to Minneapolis, Minn., for the 2006 Big Ten Championships on April 29, before traveling to Oak Ridge, Tenn., for the Aramark South/Central Region Springs from May 13-14.
