Hoosier Duo Claims Silver at U.S. Open Qualification Meet

INDIANAPOLIS - The Hoosier duo of sophomore Christina Loukas and incoming freshman Brittney Feldman captured silver in the synchronized three-meter event at the 2006 Speedo U.S. Open Qualification Meet on April 17.
The pair opened the day in first place with a solid forward 1.5 somersault from a pike position for 45.60 points. The twosome then slipped to fifth after a rough reverse dive from a pike with a 37.20 tally. The Hoosiers then jumped back into third with a 57.60 on a forward 2.5 somersault with a twist from a pike position, before nailing a reverse 2.5 somersault from a pike position for 62.10 points. In the final round, they matched their previous effort with a 62.10 tally off a backward 2.5 somersault from a pike position.
Overall, the Hoosier duo recorded 264.60 points, while Kelci Bryant and Ariel Rittenhouse earned gold with a 291.60.
Next up, the U.S. Open continues with men's three-meter and women's platform individual and synchronized competition throughout the day on April 18.
