BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned College Swim Coaches Association of America National Scholar Team honors for the fall semester of 2005, as announced recently by the organization. This past semester, 290 teams met the criteria for the honor.
"The entire swimming and diving coaching staff is so very proud of all our student-athlete's efforts in the classroom," Indiana head coach Ray Looze said. "This type of accomplishment is only possible when each individual makes the commitment to be the very best student-athlete possible."
To qualify for the award, the grade point average of the entire squad must average at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
"I am very proud of our diving student-athletes here at Indiana University," Indiana head diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber said. "We want to be competitive both in the diving well and in the classroom, and my goal is to challenge the divers to continue improving in both areas next year."
