Women's Swimming and Diving Holds Annual Awards Banquet

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's swimming and diving team held its annual awards banquet on April 29, during which the program gave out a plethora of team honors.
On the diving side of the ledger, Indiana head diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber tabbed two-time Big Ten Diver of the Year and of the Championships Christina Loukas the IU Diver of the Year, while honoring senior Heather Chapman with the Lori Matthys Most Improved Diver award.
Meanwhile, Indiana head coach Ray Looze named junior Annica Lofstedt the MVP of the team, while also giving freshman Allison Kay the Newcomer of the Year Award. Additionally, Looze and the staff presented Lauren Torpey with the Stephanie Jansen Memorial Award.
Furthermore, the coaching staff paid tribute to its captains as seniors Kristen Bradley, Chapman, Lauren Lubus and Lauren Torpey each claimed Captain Awards. Meanwhile, Chapman, who earned an additional year of eligibility, juniors Susanna Ernst, Lindsay Weigle and Clarissa Wentworth were named team captains for the 2006-07 season.
