Vaziri Posts National Cut at Namesnik Grand Prix

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Rising junior Leila Vaziri posted a national cut in the 50 LCM freestyle at the Eric Namesnik Memorial Grand Prix in Ann Arbor, Mich., on May 19. The Coral Springs, Fla., product touched in 26.67 for the sixth-fastest time in prelims before placing seventh in 26.98 in finals. Meanwhile, classmate Annica Lofstedt took 21st overall with a 27.14 after clocking a 20th-place 27.18 in preliminary action in the 50 free.
Additionally, rising sophomore Christie Fuchs turned in an 82nd-place 4:46.92 in the 400 LCM freestyle, while rising junior Susanna Ernst and rising freshman Allison Kay tied for 43rd in the 200 LCM IM with matching 2:28.04 times. Furthermore, rising freshman Sarah Stockwell cruised in at 2:29.41 for 60th, while classmate Kristin Cihoski placed 89th in 2:32.66.
The Hoosiers will continue competition through May 21 at the Grand Prix event.
