Loukas Picks Up Pair of Top-Five Finishes

VICTORIA, B.C. - Two-time Big Ten Diver of the Year and of the Championships Christina Loukas picked up a pair of top-five finishes at the 2006 Canada Cup in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada on May 6.
In the synchronized platform competition, the pair of Olympian Cassandra Cardinell and Loukas finished fourth with a tally of 271.56. After a rough initial two dives, the duo posted solid dives throughout the rest of the event before drilling a backward 2.5 somersault with 1.5 twists for 70.38 points.
Meanwhile, the Riverwoods, Ill., product placed fifth on the three-meter with a 283.60 tally. During the event, she posted a pair of 63-point dives. She nailed a backward 2.5 somersault in the second round, before hitting on a forward 2.5 somersault with 1.5 twists in the final round.
