Vaziri, Bradley to Compete at Pan Pacific Championships in Canada

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Rising senior Leila Vaziri and 2006 graduate Kristen Bradley will compete at the Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, which take place at the Saanich Commonwealth Place Pool in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, from Aug. 17-21.
Vaziri will be one of 56 swimmers competing for the United States. The Coral Springs, Fla., native earned a spot on the national team with her title in the 100-meter backstroke at the ConocoPhillips National Championships/World Championship Trials in Irvine, Calif., on Aug. 2. The 100m back at the Pan Pacific Championships will be contested on Aug. 17.
Bradley, who recently wrapped up her Hoosier career, will be a part of Canada's 64-member squad. The Linday, Ontario, native earned her way onto the national team by taking gold in the 400-meter individual medley at Canada's Pan Pacific Trials/National Championships in July. The 400m IM will take place on Aug. 18 at the Pan Pacific Championships.
The meet will feature more than 300 athletes from Pan Pacific charter members the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia, as well as from several guest federations.
