Weigle Takes Second Straight Big Ten Weekly Honor

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the second consecutive week, Indiana senior Lindsay Weigle has been named the Big Ten Diver of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Weigle, who shared this week's award with Purdue's Amanda Miller, swept both diving events in the Hoosiers' 166-121 Senior Day win over No. 24 Missouri on Saturday, Jan. 20. The Bloomington native took the three-meter with a score of 331.80, then won the platform with a score of 306.45, the fourth-best five-dive platform score in school history.
"Her tower was great again," assistant diving coach Todd Waikel said. "In fact, I think she went 9s on her back 2 ½ pike off the 10-meter. She just keeps training hard and doing what we ask, and it seems like all the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. She's real solid up there, and I'm real proud of her."
The award is the third of Weigle's career, and second this season. She also took the honor on Jan. 15.
The Hoosiers, who finished the season 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the Big Ten for their first undefeated season since the 1977-78 campaign, return to action at the Big Ten Championships in Minneapolis, Minn., from Feb. 8-10.
