#9 Wisconsin Downs Hoosiers

Sophomore Kelsey Hall continued her strong play as of late, posting eight kills and six digs in the contest. Junior Erica Short paced the Hoosiers with 10 terminations while Senior Juli Pierce led the team with eight digs.
After a disappointing game one loss, the Hoosiers jumped all over Wisconsin in game two. A 9-4 Indiana advantage to begin the second game forced the Badgers to burn an early time out. Wisconsin then slowly inched their way back into the game, however. Facing a game point at 29-30, Short recorded a kill to even the score at 30-30. A block by Senior Lauren Ditteon and Freshman Taylor Wittmer then gave IU a chance for the game at 31-30. Unfortunately, the Badgers were able to grab the next three points thereafter for the 33-31 win.
Wisconsin won the first five points in game three and the Hoosiers could not recover from there, eventually dropping the contest 30-16.
The Hoosiers now sit at 12-6 overall and 3-3 in the Big Ten Conference. The home volleyball match against Michigan State this upcoming Friday (Oct. 12) will kick off the Hoosier Hysteria festivities at Assembly Hall. The Hoosier netters will then return to University Gym for a Saturday night showdown with Northwestern. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. ET starts.
