Hoosiers Wrap Stay at Purdue's Boiler-Make-It

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Indiana's women's swimming team wrapped up competition at the Boiler-Make-It, a last chance meet held at Purdue's Boilermaker Aquatic Center, on Feb. 18.
Kristin Cihoski, Donna Smailis, Cassie Luhrsen and Emma Berry all competed at the event, along with swimmers from Purdue, Northwestern and Illinois.
Cihoski posted a time of 4:23.74 in the 400-yard individual medley, just missing an NCAA "B" cut (4:23.29). The time was a season best for Cihoski.
Smailis competed in the 100-yard butterfly, turning in a time of 57.00 in the preliminaries of the event. She did not compete in the finals.
Cihoski and Smailis both competed in a 100 fly time trial, with Cihoski posting a time of 56.16 and Smailis clocking a 58.13.
Luhrsen and Berry competed in the 1,650-yard freestyle, with Luhrsen finishing first in the timed finals in 16:46.14. Berry was second in 16:58.27.
Indiana's divers return to action on March 3-4 at the NCAA Zone C Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich., while those swimmers and divers qualifying for the NCAA Championships will compete in Minneapolis, Minn., from March 8-10.
