BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana freshmen Katie Feckler and Emily Kasavana have been invited to the 2007 Women's National Team Freshman Camp, USRowing announced this week.
The camp will be held June 18-24 at the University of Wisconsin and will be run by Badger Head Coach Bebe Bryans.
With the selection of Feckler and Kasavana, Indiana was one of just five schools with two rowers picked, joining Grand Valley State, UCLA, Tennessee and Washington State. IU was one of just two Big Ten schools with a selection, as Minnesota had one freshman selected to attend the camp.
Feckler and Kasavana both row with the Hoosiers' second varsity eight.
"This is an unprecedented honor for Indiana rowing," assistant coach Carmen Mirochna said. "Being at a camp with peers of their talent level and zeal, we look forward to seeing what they bring back. (Indiana head coach) Steve (Peterson) has coached a lot of rowers at the elite level, so this will prepare them for being on the varsity under his tutelage next year."
