Indiana University Athletics
Campaign Summary
5/31/2007 12:00:00 AM | Capital

Indiana University Athletics has embarked on its first major comprehensive campaign in history to raise funds for much-needed student-athlete facility projects and renovations, endowment and on-going annual support of student-athlete scholarships. This goal has been set, in consultation with the IU Foundation, based on the feasibility of the current fundraising climate and our donor base. These funds will be sought from private sources - primarily our loyal alumni and friends. Such support is critical to ensure IU Athletics not only sustains but excels academically and thrives athletically.
The Campaign for IU Athletics falls under the umbrella of the Matching the Promise campaign on the IU Bloomington campus. The focus of the Matching the Promise campaign is undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships, both of which are top priorities for the campus as evidenced by the university's attractive endowment income matching program. Athletics is one of a few stated facility priorities named in the overall campaign. Matching the Promise quietly began July 1, 2003 and has yet to be publicly announced. The campaign is scheduled to conclude on June 30, 2010 and will most likely exceed the $1 billion mark.
