BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - With a pair of game-winning goals last week against No. 13 Louisville and Ohio State, Indiana University sophomore midfielder Andy Adlard is the Soccer America Player of the Week, the publication announced Tuesday.
In addition to earning the honor from Soccer America, Adlard was also named to the College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer Teams of the Week for his performance.
Against No. 13 Louisville last Wednesday, Adlard knocked home a penalty kick that was the difference in a 1-0 victory over the Cardinals. On Sunday he helped the Hoosiers extend their win streak to three games as his free kick 1:19 into overtime at Ohio State hit the back of the net for a 3-2 victory over the Buckeyes. The win improved Indiana's record to 9-4-2 overall and 2-2 in Big Ten play.
The Hoosiers close out the nonconference portion of their schedule tomorrow night as they play host to the Kentucky Wildcats. Match time is 7:30 p.m. at Jerry Yeagley Field at Armstrong Stadium.
