Meet Ryan Konz

BLOOMINGTON, ind. - As the 2008-09 IU Wrestling season creeps closer and closer, IUHoosiers.com continues to get to know many of the newcomers. In this edition of "Meet the Hoosiers," say hello to Ryan Konz.
Konz is a five-eight, 157-pound freshman from Franklin High School in Franklin, Tennessee. During his four years in high school, he compiled an overall record of 169-16. Konz was a four-time state placer in Tennessee, finishing as the runner-up in 2005 and 2008 while taking third place during his sophomore (2006) and junior (2007) seasons. He was a member of Franklin High Head Coach Jeramie Welder's 2005 TSSAA Dual State Championship squad. He was also named the Franklin High Most Outstanding Wrestler following his senior season.
Konz has shown the ability to shine on the national stage as well. He followed up a third-place showing in the 2006 National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) Nationals with a runner-up performance in the 2007 NHSCA Nationals.
Ryan is the son of Joe and Barb Konz, and has three siblings; a sister, Stacy, and two brothers, Cory and Joel. He intends to major in Business.
