SETTING THE SCENE
• The Hoosiers closed out their 2008 slate with the annual Hoosierland Invite, Nov. 21-23 at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center.
• Indiana is coming off a three-week layoff with its last outing Oct. 31-Nov. 1 against No. 4 Texas and No. 16 Michigan.
• The Hoosiers split that double dual, defeating Michigan, 232-157, and falling in a close contest to Texas, 211-178.

* 1,650 heats will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating heats of women and men after the morning preliminaries. The fastest heat of women and men will be swum in f­inals.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Indiana is coming off a dual meet split, getting a win over Big Ten foe Michigan and falling in a narrow contest to No. 4 Texas.
• Junior Kate Zubkova continued her domination of the backstroke, winning the 100 back with a time of 53.47. That is an improvement of more than a second over her previous NCAA B cut time.
• She also posted a B cut in the 200 back with a winning time of 1:56.42.
• Zubkova is undefeated in both backstroke events this season.
• She added her third B time with a 53.99 in the 100 butterfly. That is the sixth-fastest 100 fly time in school history.
• Sarah Stockwell won the 100 breast and finished third in the 200 breast with a season-best time of 2:17.54.
• Allison Kay posted her best time of the season in the 200 fly to finish third, and was also third in the 400 IM with a season-best mark.
• Freshman Nikki White continued to show her strength in the distance events, taking second in the 500 free with a season-best 4:50.88, and posting a third-place finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle.
• Sophomore Amanda Smith was the winner in the 1,650-yard free with a time of 16:34.02.
• Christina Loukas won the one-meter springboard (312.10) and three-meter springboard (342.65) and was IU's top finisher on the platform (fifth).
• In a victory over Northwestern on Oct. 24, Indiana won 10 events, led by junior Kate Zubkova who took home wins in the 100 back, 200 back, 100 butterfly and 400 medley relay.
• Sophomore Brittany Barwegen recorded an NCAA B cut in the 200 butterfly, touching first with a time of 1:59.11.
• Junior Brittney Feldman was a double winner in diving, taking the one-meter and three-meter springboard titles.
• Indiana opened the year in dominating fashion by winning all but one event against Kentucky on Oct. 18.
• White has an impressive debut, taking first in the 200 free, 500 free and 400 freestyle relay.
• Sophomore Christina Kouklakis won her first-ever collegiate event, taking first in the three-meter springboard against the Wildcats.
• The Hoosiers look to carry the momentum of last year's 10th-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
• IU totaled 128 points, the second-most points scored at the NCAA meet in school history, just off the record of 136 in 2002.
• Indiana returns seven All-Americans in junior Presley Bard, junior Brittney Feldman, senior Christina Loukas, junior Donna Smailis, sophomore Amanda Smith, senior Sarah Stockwell and junior Kate Zubkova.
• The Hoosiers also have eight All-Big Ten selections back in the fold in Bard, Feldman, Kay, Loukas, Smailis, Smith, Stockwell and Zubkova.

• On the diving side, Indiana returns the Big Ten champion in the one-meter and three-meter springboard in junior Brittney Feldman.
• Also back on the boards for IU this season is senior Christina Loukas. An eight-time All-American for IU, Loukas redshirted the 2007-08 season to focus on the Olympics.
