Hoosiers Roll Against Slippery Rock At Western Division Quarterfinals

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Indiana women's water polo team scored a season-high 22 goals in its CWPA Western Division Championships quarterfinal match against Slippery Rock on Friday afternoon in Grove City, Pa. The Hoosiers claimed a 22-5 win and advanced to take on Mercyhurst in the semifinals on Saturday.
The 22 goals scored is just one off the single-game record at Indiana, which was set April 21, 2007 against Penn State-Behrend.
Amy Moore and Maggie Hannon both scored four goals and Lauren Wyckoff added a hat trick as part of the outburst on offense for Indiana. Scoring a pair of goals for the Hoosiers included Kate Dunn, Kelsey Campbell, Kara Butler and Stefanie Winter and rounding out the scoring was Brooke Zimmerman, Kelly Palmberg and Brittany Estrata with a goal apiece.
Moore also assisted on four goals while Nicole Redder and Zimmerman both had three helpers for the Hoosiers, who set a new single-game school record for assists with 20.
Jackie Pyrz made 12 saves in goal for Indiana and picked up two assists.
