Hoosiers Hit Links for Practice Round at NCAA Regional

ATHENS, Ga. - The Indiana women's golf team got in a practice round Wednesday afternoon as it prepares for the start of the 2008 NCAA Women's Golf East Regional at the UGA Colf Course in Athens, Ga.
The Hoosiers will tee off at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday for the first of three 18-hole rounds. Indiana is the No. 17 seed and will be paired with UNC-Wilmington and Missouri.
Indiana's fivesome consists of seniors Lauren Harling and Elaine Harris, and sophomores Anita Gahir, Kellye Belcher and Laura Nochta. This is the same group that competed at the NCAA Central Regional last year and finished fourth to advance to the NCAA Championship.
The top eight teams in the East Regional will earn a spot at the NCAA Championship which will take place May 20-23 in Albuquerque, N.M.
After Thursday's opening round, IU will play another 18 holes on Friday before closing out with one final round on Saturday.
