ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Big Ten Conference announced the first and second team honorees and the Indiana Hoosiers had one representative on both the first and second teams. Senior Kiri Crane was named first team while sophomore Emily Kasavana garnered second team accolades. Kasavana also received the Hoosiers' Sportsmanship Award from the conference.
Crane, a native of Milford, Ohio, is in her third year with the Hoosier rowing team and second with the Varsity Eight. She started with the Novice Eight in 2006 and was a part of the crew that finished sixth in the region, tying the school record.
Kasavana hails from Williamston, Mich., and has been with the Varsity both years she has been with the Hoosiers. She was one of 20 rowers selected from across the country to participate in the U.S. National Rowing Team's Freshman ID Camp following her freshman season at Indiana.
Indiana will return to the water May 17-18 in Oak Ridge, Tenn., at the Aramark South/Central Regionals.
