Loukas Heading To Three-Meter Finals at Olympics

BEIJING - Indiana University senior Christina Loukas kept her medal hopes alive with a seventh-place finish in the semifinals of the women's three-meter springboard at the Olympic Games in Beijing China.
The finals are set for 8:30 a.m. ET Sunday at the National Aquatics Center and will feature the top 12 divers from the semifinals.
Loukas scored more than 60 points on all five dives to finish with 329.10 points, including 72 on her reverse 2 ½. She is joined in the finals by teammate Nancilea Foster who finished fourth in the semis with a score of 338.90.
China's Guo Jingjing, the 2004 gold medalist on 3-meter, scored 398.55 points to lead the semifinal field, with 2004 bronze medalist Julia Pakhalina of Russia in second with 383.50 points. Athens silver medalist Wu Minxia of China finished the semis in third place with 345.30 points.
Scores from the semifinals do not carry over; divers will start at zero and dive in reverse order of their finish in the semis.
