SETTING THE SCENE
• Indiana is looking to get back on the winning track after a 2-1 loss to UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 27.
• That loss snapped a three-game win streak for IU.
• Indiana is travelling to Evansville for the first time since the 1998 season.
• That trip resulted in a 2-1 win over the Hoosiers.
• Indiana is ranked 17th in the latest Soccer America poll.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Andy Adlard scored his second career goal in the match vs. UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 27.
• It was his first career goal from the run of play. His other score came on a penalty kick against San Diego on Sept. 14.
• Indiana fell to 2-2-0 against the Gauchos with the loss.
• The Hoosiers have given up five goals in their last three matches, including back-to-back two-goal efforts from opponents.
• The last time IU gave up multiple goals in back-to-back games came in 2007 when it lost three straight matches to No. 16 Creighton, No. 24 Saint Louis and UAB by identical 2-1 scores.
• Prior to 2007, Indiana had not given up multiple goals in back-to-back games since 2003 (2-2 tie with Georgetown; 2-1 loss at Connecticut).
• With a 3-2 overtime win over Wisconsin on Sept. 21, Indiana is now 15-0-3 in Big Ten openers.
• The win also made the Hoosiers 78-7-9 all-time in Big Ten matches.
• Indiana is 1-0-2 in overtime matches this season.
• The Hoosiers are 2-0-3 in their last five Big Ten overtime matches.
• Three of Indiana's last four regular-season Big Ten matches have stretched into overtime.
• Indiana is 1-0-2 against top-25 teams this season.
• The Hoosiers also have a pair of double overtime scoreless ties against Akron and South Florida, along with a 3-0 win over UCLA.
• Goalkeeper Chay Cain recorded his third shutout of the season and the 23rd of his career in the win over UCLA on Sept. 12.
• Will Bruin scored his first career goal against the Bruins and added his second score of the weekend in the 2-1 win over San Diego.
• Indiana is 1-1 on penalty kick attempts this season.
• Indiana finished as runner up at its adidas/IU Credit Union Classic with a 2-1 win over Duke on Aug. 29 and a 0-0 double overtime tie with No. 12 Akron on Aug. 31.
• 3,239 fans were on hand for the IU-Akron match, while 3,464 fans were in attendance for the 2-1 win over Duke.
• Indiana was victorious in its home opener for the first time since 2005 with a 2-1 win over Duke on Aug. 29.
• Indiana is now 21-10-5 in season openers.
• The Hoosiers finished the preseason with a 2-0 record after a 3-1 victory over Tulsa on Aug. 20 and a 3-0 shutout of North Carolina on Aug. 22,
• With a 3-2 overtime win over Wisconsin on Sept. 21, Indiana has never lost a match televised on the Big Ten Network, going 4-0-4 in those games.
SCOUTING THE PURPLE ACES
• Evansville improved to 6-2 on the season with a 6-0 win over Centenary on Sept. 26.
• The Purple Aces are 4-0 at home this season. Their two losses have come at UC Santa Barbara (4-2) and at Cal Poly (3-0).
• Mike Luttrull leads the offense with seven goals and three assists for 17 points.
• Tyler Crawford (five) and Tom Irvin (six) have combined for 11 assists this season.
• Evansville has outscored its opponents, 20-10. The Purple Aces have 33 assists on those 20 goals.
• Alec Dufty has seen a majority of the minutes in goal, allowing 10 goals in 629:54 of play for a 1.43 GAA. He also has three shutouts.
• Head coach Mike Jacobs is in his third season at Evansville and enters the match with a record of 25-19-1.
• He is assisted by Mike Miller, Marshall Ray and Robbie Roate.
SERIES HISTORY
• Indiana leads the all-time series, 20-4-3.
• The Hoosiers have won six straight, including a 2-1 win in Bloomington last season.
• Indiana has not lost a match in the series since Nov. 25, 1990 (1-0). That was an NCAA Tournament game played in Evansville.
• The Hoosiers have outscored the Purple Aces 12-1 in the last three meetings.
EVANSVILLE TIES
• Sophomore midfielder Andy Adlard has several ties to Evansville.
• His mother, Shelly Brand Adlard scored 1,713 points in her basketball career at UE and is still the school's all-time leading scorer.
• His father, Steve, is a former assistant soccer coach at Evansville.

• Video of Indiana's men's soccer matches vs. Michigan (Oct. 4), Notre Dame (Oct. 16) and Louisville (Oct. 22) will be streamed live via CSTV All-Access on iuhoosiers.com. The broadcast, which will feature Jeremy Gray on play-by-play and analysis by Ian Rickerby, will be offered free.

E.A. GETS IN THE GAME
• Junior midfielder Eric Alexander proved to be the difference in Indiana's 3-2 OT win over Wisconsin on Sept. 21.
• It marked the second goal in three matches for Alexander after he scored in a 3-0 win at UCLA on Sept. 12.
• Prior to the UCLA match, Alexander had not found the back of the net since a 4-0 win at Kentucky on Oct. 31, 2007.
• Alexander is coming off his best season for the Hoosiers, scoring five goals and adding an assist in 2007 to earn unanimous All-Big Ten honors.

RANKING THE HOOSIERS
• Soccer America dropped Indiana seven spots to No. 17.
• Indiana is 18th in the College Soccer News poll.
• The NSCAA/adidas poll will be released Tuesday afternoon.
BIG TEN DOMINATION
• Since the Big Ten began sponsoring men's soccer in 1991, the Hoosier have dominated the league.
• The Hoosiers are 78-7-9 in regular season matches, tallying nearly 30 more victories than second-place team Penn State (50).
• Indiana has never lost in its Big Ten opener, going 15-0-3 in those matches.
• IU has won 11 Big Ten tournament titles, sharing the 1995 crown with Wisconsin.
• Indiana has also been crowned regular season champion 13 times, including nine-straight seasons from 1996-2004. IU has now won back-to-back regular season titles in 2006 and 2007.
• Indiana has been the league's goals-against average leader in 15 of 17 seasons, including 2007 when the Hoosiers allowed just two goals in six matches for a 0.31 GAA.
• IU had a league-record 10 Big Ten Players of the Year, including two of the last three seasons.
• The Hoosiers have also boasted the Freshman of the Year two of the last three years.
ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET
• Senior goalkeeper Chay Cain recorded his 23rd career solo shutout on
Sept. 12 when the Hoosiers posted a 3-0 victory at UCLA.
• It was his third shutout of the season (Akron, South Florida).
• Cain recorded 10 shutouts in 2006 and added another 10 in 2007.
• Cain ranks seventh on IU's career shutout list, 10th in saves (159) and ninth in career wins (29).
SCORING DEPTH
• When it comes to scoring threats Indiana's opponents can't just focus on one or two players as the Hoosiers' 11 goals have come from eight different players.
• Freshman Will Bruin, sophomore Andy Adlard and junior Eric Alexander have multiple goals with two each.
•Indiana also showed its depth during the preseason as the six goals were scored by six different players.
• Adlard, John Mellencamp and Michael Roach came with the scores against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes in a 3-1 win.
• In the 3-0 win over North Carolina, it was Neil Wilmarth, Brian Ackley and Kevin Noschang putting the ball in the net.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
•Including the match at Evansville, the Hoosiers will play three of their next four on the road (Sept. 30 at Evansville; Oct. 7 at Butler; Oct. 12 at Michigan State).
• The only home match during that span is a meeting with Michigan on Oct. 4.
• That run is followed by three of four at home against Notre Dame (Oct. 16), Louisville (Oct. 22) and Kentucky (Oct. 29).
TIME CHANGE
•Indiana's match against Northwestern on Friday, Nov. 7 has been moved to a 6:30 p.m. ET start time to accommodate the Big Ten Network live broadcast. That is a half hour later than the previous time of 6 p.m. ET.
