BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - For the second time in as many weeks, senior Kate Fesenko has been named the Big Ten Women's Swimmer of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Fesenko continued her dominance in the backstroke events last weekend in a double dual meet with Texas and Michigan. She continues to hold the fastest times in the NCAA in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke posting a winning time of 53.30 in the 100 back and 1:55.56 in the 200 back. Both are NCAA B cuts.
Fesenko also posted second-place finishes in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly before leading Indiana to a pair of runner-up finishes in the 200 and 400 medley relays. She also contributed to the Hoosiers' second-place showings in the 400 and 800 free relays and swam on the 200 free relay team, which took third.
The Hoosiers return to action on Nov. 20 for the three-day Hoosierland Invitational at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington.
