IU Picks Up Pair of Dual Wins

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Indiana University wrestling team improved to 3-0 with a pair of victories on Saturday at the Disney Duals in Orlando, Fla. Indiana defeated The Citadel, 34-7, and Columbia University, 22-15.

Half of the IU line-up went 2-0 on the day as five Hoosiers had their hand raised twice. Kurt Kinser tallied the most team points for the Cream and Crimson, recording back-to-back pins for 12 points. The combined time of his two first-period falls was 2:39.

Matt Powless, Ricky Alcala, Mitchell Richey and Paul Young joined Kinser as two-time victors.

Powless ran his unbeaten season record to 7-0 while Alcala and Young are each now 7-1 during the '10-11 campaign. True freshman Mitchell Richey has earned the start at 141-lbs. in each of the first three duals, arising victorious in each of them.

Indiana will host the Hoosier Duals next Saturday (Nov. 27) inside Assembly Hall starting at 9 a.m. The Hoosiers face off against UNC Greensboro, Old Dominion, Northern Illinois and the University of the Cumberlands in the four-match competition.
