COLUMBUS, Ohio - The USA Diving Winter Nationals continued Friday at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio, and a pair of divers with Indiana ties competed in the women's 3-meter springboard competition.
Christina Loukas, a 2009 Indiana graduate and the 2009 NCAA Champion and 2008 Olympian, is in the lead heading into the competition finals on Sunday after posting a score of 371.45 in the semifinal. Loukas currently holds a 4.55 point lead over Abby Johnston. The cumulative scores from the semifinals and finals will determine both the national champion and rosters for the 2010 World Cup and AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix teams. The top two finishers (who also meet minimum degree of difficulty requirements) will be named to the World Cup team and the top four (again, pending DD requirements) to the Grand Prix team.
Competing unattached, current Hoosier Brittney Feldman was 17th in the 3-meter springboard semifinal with a score of 252.60.
The USA Diving Winter National Championships continues through Feb. 8, with Indiana senior Amy Korthauer competing in the final of the women's platform tomorrow.
