Big Ten Championship Pre-Seeds Released

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Big Ten officials announced on Tuesday the preliminary seeds for the 2010 Big Ten Wrestling Championships. Six of 10 Hoosiers received a pre-seed, including a pair of undefeated No. 1 seeds in Angel Escobedo (30-0, 125 lbs.) and Nate Everhart (32-0, Heavyweight).
The pre-seeds are determined by a vote among the conference's head coaches after consideration of regular-season results.
Indiana is one of three schools in the conference to earn multiple top seeds. Iowa leads the way with three No. 1's while the Hoosiers and Minnesota each nabbed a pair.
The Bloomington High School South duo of Kurt Kinser (157 lbs.) and Paul Young (165 lbs.) came in as No. 4 and No. 5 seeds, respectively. Rounding the IU pre-seeds are Eric Cameron (184 lbs.) and Matt Powless (197 lbs.), both tabbed as No. 6 seeds for the conference championship held in Ann Arbor, Mich., at Crisler Arena from March 6-7.
