BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana men's soccer team will officially take to the pitch Sunday as it takes on the Louisville Cardinals at noon on Jerry Yeagley Field at Armstrong Stadium. Admission is free.
The last time these two teams met was the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament which resulted in a 2-0 win for the Hoosiers.
This will be the first chance for fans to see the team since head coach Todd Yeagley took over the program in December. Indiana returns eight starters from last year's squad that advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament, including first-team All-Big Ten honoree Will Bruin, second-team picks Andy Adlard and Rich Balchan, and Big Ten All-Freshman picks Kevin Bick and Matt Wiet.
This kicks off a six-match spring slate, featuring home matches against Cincinnati (April 9- 7:30 p.m.), IUPUI (April 14- 7 p.m.) and the Mexican Youth National Team (April 27- 7 p.m.). The Hoosiers will also hit the road to face Notre Dame in Ft. Wayne, Ind., on April 17 at 7 p.m., and 2009 NCAA runner-up Akron on April 24 at 8 p.m. in Newport, Ky.
