Hoosiers Wrap-Up Day Three of USA Swimming Nationals

IRVINE, Calif. - Indiana swimmers continued to make their presence known in the pool on day three of the 2010 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships in Irvine, Calif.
Senior Ashley Jones was 19th in the prelims of the 400-meter individual medley with a time of 4:49.52 but did not swim the bonus final in the evening. Junior Allysa Vavra also swam the prelims, recording a time of 4:55.92 (46th).
Brittany Strumbel, Nikki White, Justine Jones and Courey Schaefer combined for a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter freestyle relay, clocking a time of 8;17.87.
Senior Bryan Chovanec took 22nd in the prelims of the men's 50-meter freestyle with a time of 23.14. That put him in the bonus final, however results were not available at this time.
In 100-meter breaststroke prelims, sophomore Ashley Specht clocked a time of 1:13.37 (70th), while junior Katelyn Ishee finished in 1:15.26 (101st).
Former Hoosier Todd Patrick finished 16th in the prelims of the 100-meter butterfly (54.06) but elected not to take part in the evening swim.
