Hoosiers' MacLean Sixth in Fly at Pan Am Games

GUADALAJARA, Mexico - Indiana University sophomore Brenna MacLean finished sixth in the 200-meter butterfly as part of Team Canada at the 2011 Pan Am Games at the Scotiabank Aquatic Center in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Swimming in lane 2, MacLean touched the wall in 2:16.13, just 3/100ths of a second out of fifth. MacLean finished third in her prelim heat earlier in the day with a time of 2:15.87.
MacLean is not the only Hoosier competing at the Pan Am games. Earlier this week senior Allysa Vavra took home a bronze medal in the 400-meter individual medley. Junior Amy Cozad and IU graduate Amy Korthauer will take part in the diving competition next week. In addition. Indiana diving coach Dr. Jeff Huber is serving as part of the Team USA staff at the Games.
