THE OPENING TIP
Indiana will open its 2011-12 home schedule on Monday, Nov. 14, as the Hoosiers welcome the Murray State Racers to Assembly Hall. The game is scheduled to tip at 7 p.m. ET in Bloomington. It will be MSU's first ever matchup with Indiana. The game can be heard live on Hoosier Country WHCC 105.1 FM, the flagship station for Indiana women's basketball. Jeremy Gray will be on the call.
DID YOU KNOW?
• Monday's game will mark the first ever meeting beween the Indiana and Murray State women's basketball programs.
• Indiana has not lost a home opener in the Felisha Legette-Jack era, winning five-consecutive home opening contests since 2006.
• Since 1982-83, the first year for Big Ten women's basketball, the Hoosiers are 23-6 in their first home game of the season.
• Sasha Chaplin acheived her first double-double in nearly two years at Central Arkansas with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort.
• Murray State plays in the Ohio Valley Conference and the school is located in Murray, Kentucky.
• Four Hoosiers made their Division I Collegiate debut on Nov. 11 at Central Arkansas. Junior College transfers Jasmine McGhee and Linda Rubene, and freshmen Quaneisha McCurty and Candyce Ussery all played in their first Division I contest.

MURRAY STATE AT A GLANCE
The Murray State Racers arrive in Bloomington after opening the 2011-12 campaign with a home win over Evansville on Nov. 11, 76-61. Four MSU players scored in double-figures in the win led by Erica Burgess, who tallied 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting with five rebounds, nine assists and four steals. Mariah Robinson had 13 points as Kayla Lowe and Allison Karst came off the bench to score 12 points and 11 points, respectively. As a team, the Racers collected 20 steals on the night and forced 31 Evansville turnovers. For the game, 13 players saw playing time for Murray State as the team hit nine 3-point field goals on the night.
HOME OPENERS HAVE BEEN KIND
Indiana has not lost a home opening game in the Felisha Legette-Jack era, winning the first game played at Assembly Hall in each of the last five seasons. Since 1982-83, the first year for Big Ten women's basketball, the Hoosiers are 23-6 in home opening contests. IU defeated St. Bonaventure to open the home schedule a year ago on Nov. 15, 2010, topping the Bonnies, 50-44.
CHAPLIN RETURNS WITH DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Redshirt junior Sasha Chaplin missed all but two games last season and in her return to the court, she acheived a double-double to begin the 2011-12 season. Chaplin led the Hoosiers with 13 points and 10 rebounds at Central Arkansas on Nov. 11. The St. Petersburg, Fla., native shot 6-of-8 from the field and added two blocks and two steals in 22 minutes of play off the bench. It marked Chaplin's first double-double since Dec. 22, 2009 vs. Toledo and it was the fifth time she had accomplished the feat in her career.
HOOSIER DEBUTS
Four Hoosiers made their Division I collegiate debuts at Central Arkansas on Nov. 11. Junior college transfers Jasmine McGhee and Linda Rubene each started for IU in their first games as Hoosiers. Freshman Quaneisha McCurty and Candyce Ussery also played their first minutes at the college level. McGhee was one of two Hoosiers who scored in double figures finishing with 12 points and added eight rebounds against UCA. McCurty and Rubene scored their first points at the Division I level as they each scored four points. McCurty also added three rebounds on the night.
MAJOR MINUTES
Sophomore Andrea Newbauer played a career-high 32 minutes in the second start of her career at Central Arkansas on Nov. 11. The Ft. Wayne, Ind., native scored a career-best four points and tied a career mark with three assists against the Sugar Bears. Newbauer will be looked upon for more minutes this season after averaging 9.1 mpg a year ago.
REBOUNDING EFFORT
The Hoosiers won the battle of the boards on Nov. 11 at Central Arkansas, outrebounding the Sugar Bears, 40-31. Indiana hopes that trend will continue as the 2011-12 season unfolds as IU won the rebounding battle in only nine of the 29 game played last year, going 6-3 in those contests.
BATTLING NEW FOES
Indiana will matchup with three teams this season that the Hoosiers have never faced in program history. It began with the regular season opener at Central Arkansas on Nov. 11. Then on Nov. 14, IU will welcome Murray State to Assembly Hall for the first time ever. The Hoosiers will then battle Oklahoma State for the first time at home on Nov. 4 as part of the Big 12/Big Ten Challenge.
NATIONAL TELEVISION
The Indiana women's basketball team will play live on BTN on five occassions during the 2011-12 regular season, with the possibility of three other games being added as television contests. Games airing on the BTN include Dec. 30 vs. Michigan State at 6 p.m. ET, Jan. 8 vs. Northwestern at 2 p.m. ET, Jan. 19 vs. Purdue at 8 p.m. ET, Jan. 26 vs. Ohio State at 8 p.m. ET and Feb. 19 at Michigan at Noon ET. The three additional games that are to be determined for a BTN broadcast are Jan. 2 at Minnesota at 1/3 p.m. ET, Feb. 23 vs. Wisconsin at 6/8 p.m. and Feb. 26 at Purdue at 12/2/4 p.m. Along with these television broadcasts, 15 games are scheduled to be streamed live on BTN.com.
