Hoosiers Compete at USA Diving Winter Nationals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University diving is well-represented at the 2012 USA Diving Winter Nationals, taking place in Knoxville, Tenn.
The only final of the day came in the men's 3-meter springboard synchronized event. IU freshman Danton Rogers and junior Casey Johnson finished 10th with a score of 550.50. Junior Zac Nees and sophomore Bryce Ogden also competed in the event but were unable to finish, tallying a score of 273.42.
The women's platform quarterfinals took place on Saturday, with the top 18 finishers advancing to the semifinals on Sunday. Junior Amy Cozad earned her spot with a seventh-place finish, tallying 303.80 points. Sophomore Laura Ryan also advanced to the semifinals, scoring 297.15 points.
Senior Gabby Agostino just missed out earning a spot in the 1-meter springboard final. The top eight finishers on Saturday advanced to the final, with Agostino placing 10th (243.80 points).
The USA Diving Winter National Championships and World Cup Trials run through Thursday, December 22. Sunday's competition includes women's 10-meter semifinals at 10 a.m. and men's 3-meter quarterfinals at 2 p.m. Finals are set for 6 p.m., starting with the women's 1-meter followed by the women's 10-meter final.
