400 Individual Medley
Junior Allysa Vavra took second in her 400 individual medley heat with a time of 4:05.08, putting her fifth overall and into her first championship final. That is the second-fastest time in school history, giving Vavra four of the five fastest IU times on record. Senior Ashley Jones swam in the same heat, finishing seventh in 4:13.08. That was good for 25th overall.
100 Butterfly
Freshman Brenna MacLean took second in her heat and 42nd overall in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.01. That was just off her career best of 53.95. In the next heat, senior Brittany Barwegen touched the wall fifth in 54.07, good for 45th overall.
200 Freestyle
In an extremely fast 200 freestyle, Hoosiers Brittany Strumbel and Margaux Farrell had to swim two of the five fastest times in school history to make it back to the consolation final. Strumbel finished tied for 10th after a time of 1:44.29, the second-fastest time in IU history. Farrell needed a career best of 1:45.07 to finish fifth in her heat and 15th overall. That is also the fourth-fastest time in school history. Junior Nikki White pulled away from the field over her final 50 yards to win her heat with a season-best time of 1:46.09 - 23rd overall. Freshman Sara Delay took second in her heat, missing out on first by 1/100th of a second after posting a new career best of 1:46.97 - 33rd overall. Freshman Stephanie Armstrong posted a career-best time in her heat, clocking a 1:48.24 to take second in the heat and 50th overall.
100 Breaststroke
Swimming in the same 100-breaststroke prelim heat, freshman Bronwyn Pasloski and sophomore Ashley Specht took third and fifth, respectively. Pasloski's time of 1:00.87 placed her 18th overall, in one of the alternate positions and just out of scoring range. Specht had an overall finish of 26th with a time of 1:01.31.
100 Backstroke
Sophomore Taylor Wohrley finished 18th in the 100 backstroke, in an alternate position, after putting up a time of 53.36 in prelims.
