200 Backstroke
Freshman Taylor Wohrley and senior Ashley Jones swam in the final prelim heat of the 200 backstroke, with Wohrley finishing seventh in 1:57.06, and Jones eighth in 1:57.39. Overall they placed 34th and 37th, respectively.
100 Freestyle
Junior Margaux Farrell was the fastest Hoosiers in the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.01, good for fifth in her heat and 22nd overall. Junior Brittany Strumbel placed fourth in her prelim heat and 27th overall with a time of 49.06.
200 Breaststroke
Coming off her fifth-place finish in the 400 individual medley, junior Allysa Vavra finished fourth in her prelim heat of the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:10.94. That earns her a spot in the consolation final. Freshman Bronwyn Pasloski took third in her heat with a career-best time of 2:12.51, placing her 30th overall. Sophomore Ashley Specht swam the same heat, posting a time of 2:14.05, which was good for 44th overall.
200 Butterfly
Senior Brittany Barwegen went 1:57.03 for a fifth-place finish in her heat and earn a spot in the consolation final at 16th overall. Freshman Brenna MacLean clocked a time of 1:58.43 to finish sixth in her prelim but was 1/100th of a second out of third place as three swimmers tied for third in 1:58.42.
400 Freestyle Relay
The Hoosiers will swim in tonight’s consolation final of the 400 freestyle relay after finishing 14th in prelims with a time of 3:17.44. Strumbel, freshman Sara Delay, Farrell and freshman Stephanie Armstrong make up the Hoosier relay squad which posted the third-fastest time in school history.
