Farrell Takes Sixth at French Nationals

STRASBOURG, France - Indiana University junior Margaux Farrell continued her successful season with a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter freestyle at the French National meet, being held March 23-27 in Strasbourg, France.
Farrell, who holds dual French-American citizenship, posted a time of 56.32 in the prelims to advance to the A final. From there she placed sixth in the championship final with a time of 56.31.
Farrell will also compete in the 200 freestyle on Saturday. It has been a busy two weeks for the junior as last week she represented the Hoosiers at the 2011 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas. There Farrell earned All-America honors in the 400 medley relay (15th), 200 freestyle (14th), 800 freestyle relay (seventh) and 400 freestyle relay (13th). She also placed 22nd in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.01, the fifth-fastest time in school history.
