Hoosiers 10th at Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Indiana University women's golf team sits in 10th place in the 12-team field after 36 holes of the Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
Michigan State leads the field with a score of 603. Kent State is second (621), with the host Buckeyes (623), Wisconsin (626) and Northwestern (628) rounding out the top five. Indiana put up back-to-back round of 322 for a score of 644.
The teams are back in action at 8:30 a.m. ET Sunday with a final 18-hole round.
Junior Kristtini Cain is the top Hoosier in the field in a tie for ninth with a score of 155. Cain was the only IU player to shoot in the 70s in both rounds, posting a 77 in round one and a 78 in round two. Her lone birdie of round one came on the par-3 eighth hole, and it was in the same location that she picked up another birdie in round two.
Freshman Lindsay Gahm is tied for 37th with a score of 161. Gahm started the day strong with a 76 over the first 18 holes, tallying 15 pars over the round. She added a 13-over 85 in round two but did record a birdie on the par-5 14th hole.
Sophomore Jacqueline Yanch is three strokes back from Gahm, tied for 48th with a score of 164. Yanch opened with an 84, birding the par-4 third hole, and had a pair of birdies in round two, finishing with an 8-over 80. Yanch posted back-to-back birdies on four and five in the round.
Sophomore Kate Coons is tied for 60th after rounds of 85 and 82 (167). Coons picked up her only birdie of the day on the par-3 17th hole in round two.
Senior Cecilia Orevik holds the No. 65 spot in the individual rankings with rounds of 88 and 82 (170). Orevik had seven pars in the second round, along with a birdie on the par-4 16th hole.
Sophomore Pamela Burneski shot a 180 (88-92) and is tied for 73rd. Burneski birdied the par-5 sixth hole in round one but was tripped up in round two with four holes of double bogey or worse.
