500 Freestyle
Lindsay Vrooman went a career-best 4:41.32 and enters tonight’s final as the top seed. Brittany Strumbel qualified third overall with her time of 4:41.61. Lauren Jordan went a career best 4:45.80 in her prelim to finish third in the heat and 11th overall, while Courey Shafer was 12th with a time of 4:46.02. All four swimmers make it back for tonight’s session. Nikki White finished 26th with her time of 4:50.27. Laura Head opened the day by topping her personal best by nearly five seconds, winning her heat in 4:56.44 and finishing 44th overall.
200 Individual Medley
Allysa Vavra cruised to the top seed in the 200 IM with a school and pool record time of 1:56.36. She now owns the five-fastest times in school history. Bronwyn Pasloski qualified for the consolation final with a time of 2:00.26, as did Kim Tracey (2:00.92). Brenna MacLean’s time of 2:01.29 was good for second in her heat and 18th overall. MacLean just picked up the event this season and cut five seconds off her previous career best. Cynthia Pammett was 30th with a time of 2:02.97. Afton Robertson cut five seconds of her career best with a time of 2:05.67 to finish 42nd. Ashley Specht finished 53rd in 2:06.99, while Katelyn Ishee was 63rd with a career-best time of 2:08.14.
50 Freestyle
Margaux Farrell led the way for Indiana and will swim tonight’s consolation final with a time of 22.91. Stephanie Armstrong was 21st with a career-best time of 23.10, while Justine Ress 923.25), Guinevere Vanden Noort (23.78), Kristen Mitsch (24.54) and Brittney Phelan (25.59) all posted career-best times.
