No. 15 Indiana Routs Salem International, 19-5

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - The No. 15 Indiana Hoosiers women's water polo team (21-7, 2-1 CWPA West) used a nine-goal first quarter to cruise past Salem International, 19-5, in CWPA Western Division action at Notre Dame College.
The offensive output ties for the ninth highest scoring performance for an Indiana team and the most since a 22-5 victory over Slippery Rock on April 18, 2008.
Freshman Alexis Jones posted a career-high four goals to lead the way for the Hoosiers. Freshman Katie Contreras notched a career-best three scores. The trio of sophomore Shae Fournier, junior Kym King, and freshman Devon Peterson posted a pair of goals. King's two goals marked a career-high, while Peterson's were her first two collegiate goals.
Freshmen Summer Creighton, Colleen McNaught, Alynn Reade, and sophomore Amanda Redfern each posted one goal in the win.
Freshman Jojo White made her second career start and registered nine saves and dished out an assist during a complete 32 minutes of action.
The Hoosiers got out in front early, scoring six goals in the opening four minutes of action. Indiana extended its lead to 9-0 by the end of the first quarter.
After Peterson's first career goal early in the second period, Salem International got on the board with a long-range score to make it 10-1.
Indiana came back with seven of the game's next nine goals to take a commanding 17-3 lead into the half.
The Hoosiers slowed things down in the second half with a ball control offense, scoring two goals and allowing a pair from the Fighting Tigers. Escobedo scored the lone Hoosier goal in the third period, while Redfern notched one in the fourth.
