IU Rowing Set for Big Ten Championships

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana rowing team will head just up the road to Indianapolis and Eagle Creek Park for the 2012 Big Ten Championships on Sunday, May 13 (Big Ten Preview). The Hoosiers enter Sunday's racing seeded sixth overall. Racing is slated to begin at 9 a.m. ET from Eagle Creek with the Second Novice 8 race. The First Novice 8 race is scheduled for 9:20 a.m., followed by the Second Varsity 4 at 9:40 a.m. and the First Varsity 4 at 10 a.m. The Second Varsity 8 race is slated for 10:20 a.m., followed by the First Varsity 8 at 10:40.
Indiana, B1G in the Polls
The Big Ten Conference continues to dominate the CRCA/USRowing Coaches poll. The Hoosiers received one vote in the most recent poll and will face five of the nation's top-20 in this weekend's league championship. Ohio State leads the Big Ten at No. 4, followed by No. 5 Michigan, No. 9 Wisconsin, No. 14 Michigan State and No. 18 Minnesota.
IU's Top Crew Among the B1G's Best
Indiana's First Varsity 8 crew heads into the championship season as one of the best in the Big Ten. The two-time Big Ten Boat of the Week has recorded wins over No. 15 Notre Dame, Tulsa, Sacramento State, Louisville, Syracuse, Iowa, Boston University, Purdue, Marist, Central Florida and Texas, while finishing in a dead heat with Clemson and Rhode Island.
