Zero, IU Rowing Earn Honors from the CRCA

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana sophomore rower Asja Zero was named First Team All-Central Region, while nine Hoosiers were named 2012 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar-Athletes, announced by the CRCA on May 22, 2012.
Zero, a sophomore from Pula, Croatia, is a two-time First Team All-Big Ten honoree and was named First Team All-Central Region as a freshman. She is now eligible for All-America status, which will be selected following the NCAA Rowing Championships on Sunday, May 27.
IU's nine Hoosiers who were selected Scholar-Athletes was the most of any Big Ten team this season. Requirements to be a CRCA Scholar-Athlete is that a student-athlete must meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution, in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility, rowed in her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference event, and the head coach of the student-athlete's institution is a member in good standing of the CRCA. Student-athletes must have a 3.5 cumulative grade point average or higher for her career.
