Miller Finishes 7th at Olympic Trials

OMAHA, Neb. - Competing in his first Olympic Trials final, junior Cody Miller finished seventh in the 200-meter individual medley on day six of the USA Swimming Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb.
Miller posted a time of 2:00.90 in Saturday night's final, touching the wall seventh overall. That is the second-fastest time in school history and he joins Todd Patrick as the only Hoosiers to ever go under 2:01 in the event.
Miller showed improvement with each race, posting a 2:02.29 in prelims and a 2:01.63 in the semifinals.
Winner Michael Phelps (1:54.84) and second-place finisher Ryan Lochte (1:54.93) posted the two fastest times in the world this year to earn Olympic spots in the event.
Junior Lindsay Vrooman put up a time of 8:46.90 in the 800 freestyle, good for 24th overall in the morning prelim session. Sophomore Lauren Jordan touched the wall in 9:09.34 (63rd). Jordan pulled a double on the day, finishing 89th in the 200 backstroke (2:18.05).
Allysa Vavra wrapped up her Olympic Trials program with a 25th-place finish in the 200 backstroke, clocking a time of 2:14.89. Incoming freshman Alexis Bullard also swam the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:23.09 (177th).
In the 50 freestyle, senior Daniel Kanorr finished 75th with his time of 23.32.
