Hoosier Lips Making Splash at YMCA Nationals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University freshman swimmer Haley Lips is on a record-setting tear at the YMCA National Long Course Championships in Atlanta, Ga., earning two gold medals Tuesday night.
Lips of Middle Tyger club team won the women's 400-meter free in national-record time. Lips recorded a time of 4:17.56 to lower Shelby Fortin's 4:19.65 from 2010. Lips collected her second gold medal of the evening after posting the fastest time in the women's 200-meter individual medley at 2:19.52.
At the conclusion of day two, Lips' Middle Tyger team leads the team race with 361 points, 98 ahead of Upper Main Line (263). Wilton Family is in third at the moment with 260.5 points.
