BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After a five-goal rookie campaign with the Houston Dynamo in 2011, IU All-American Will Bruin thought eight goals would be a good number to aim for in 2012.
That goal as gone out the window as Bruin has found the back of the net nine times in 15 matches this season, putting him among the top-five scoring leaders in Major League Soccer. Bruin is keeping lofty company as he is joined by Chris Wondolowski (14 goals), Kenny Cooper (11 goals) Thierry Henry (9 goals) and Chris Pontius (9 goals).
Bruin's nine goals came in the first 14 games of the year, making him the fastest Dynamo player ever to nine goals in a season. His accomplishments earned him a spot on the 2012 MLS All-Star Ballot and he has been named to the MLS Team of the Week three times so far in 2012.
For his career, Bruin has started 36 of 41 matches played with 14 goals and two assists.
Recently Bruin did a Q&A with Soccer America and talked about how his time at Indiana molded him into the player he is today. You can read that Q&A here.
