BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University graduate and former Hoosier diver Christina Loukas wrapped up her 2012 Olympic Games with an eighth-place finish on the 3-meter springboard Sunday at the Aquatics Centre.
Loukas finished the 12-person final with a score of 332.10, improving upon her ninth-place finish at the 2008 Games in Beijing. China went 1-2 with Wu Minxia winning gold (414.00) and teammate He Zi silver (379.20). Mexico's Laura Sanchez Soto took home the bronze medal (362.40), just two-tenths of a point ahead of Italy's Tania Cagnotto.
Loukas is the fourth Hoosier diver to compete at multiple Olympics. She joins Leslie Bush (1964, 68), Cynthia Potter (1972, 1976) and Sara Reiling-Hildebrand (2000, 2004).
