BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Based on their performances at last weekend's SMU Classic, sophomore Brooklynn Snodgrass is the Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, while Gia Dalesandro is the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Snodgrass won the 100 backstroke (53.18) and 200 backstroke (1:54.08), while also taking first in the 400 medley relay (3:35.43). She added second-place finishes in the 800 free relay (7:09.25) and 200 free relay (1:31.94), as well as a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:40.74).
Her times in the 100 back, 200 back, 400 medley relay and 800 free relay are NCAA provisional qualifiers.

She also took third in the 200 medley relay and represented the Hoosiers in the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley as the team placed second at the SMU Classic.
This is the third career Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honor for Snodgrass, while Dalesandro picks up her first Big Ten award.

Diving begins at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday, with the swimming portion of the dual meet starting at 5 p.m. ET. The teams are back in the water on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET.
