A Look at the 2013-14 IU Wrestling Schedule

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana University Wrestling is set to compete in at least four open tournaments and face off for 19 dual matches, including a dozen duals at home in Bloomington, during the 2013-14 regular season. Postseason action begins March 8-9 in Madison, Wis., for the Big Ten Championships; followed by the NCAA Championships in Oklahoma City from March 20-22.

The Hoosiers will spend their first two weekends grappling in tournaments, competing in the Clarion Open (Nov. 3) and Michigan State Open (Nov. 10). Indiana returns to Bloomington for a pair of duals versus Cleveland State and Duke on Nov. 17 before jumping back into tournament combat a week later at the Keystone Classic (Nov. 24) in Philadelphia. Heavyweight Adam Chalfant looks to defend his title while in the City of Brotherly Love as a 2012 Keystone Classic champion.
Next up for IU are the Hoosier Duals, a two-day event (Dec. 7-8) featuring a six-team round-robin format. Visiting schools participating include: Drexel, Northern Colorado, SIUE, VMI and West Virginia.
Indiana then battles Manchester on Dec. 14 before heading north for the 51st annual Midlands Championships hosted by Northwestern University held Dec. 29-30.
Conference clashes start in 2014, beginning with a weekend road trip to Nebraska (Jan. 10) and Iowa (Jan. 12). The Hoosiers then play host to Penn State (Jan. 17), Wisconsin (Jan. 24) and Purdue (Jan. 31) on three consecutive Friday nights inside University Gym. Away bouts at Minnesota (Feb. 2) and Northwestern (Feb. 7) follow before wrapping up the Big Ten slate at home against Michigan State on Feb. 9.
A final tune-up before postseason takes place on Feb. 15, a quad in Edwardsville, Ill., with SIUE, Knox College and Lindenwood.
