Hoosier Invitational in the Books for IUXC

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana cross country program wrapped up its regular season schedule with the Hoosier Invitational on Friday afternoon at the IU Championship Cross Country Course. The event gave those runners not competing at NCAA Regionals a final chance to run in 2014.
There were no team scores, just individual results. Winning the women's 5K race was Indiana's Sydney Lesko as she finished the course in 18:29.9. IU's Brianna Johnson placed third (18:39.7) and Chanli Mundy came in fourth position (18:42.2).
Other top 10 finishers for the Hoosier women included Kelsey Kluesner in seventh (19:04.7), Corinne Cominator in eighth (19:15.), Samantha Gwin in ninth (19:22.3) and Oliva Hippensteel in 10th (19:24.6).
In the men's 8K race, Jeremy Coughler took first place running unattached in a time of 25:17.5. Indiana's Kyle DuVall placed second overall, clocking in at 25:23.7. Spencer Clapp was the next Hoosier to finish in sixth position in a time of 25:53.7. Other top 10 finishers for IU were Luke Miller in eighth (26:06.6) and Eric Claxton in ninth (26:14.8).
The NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet is up next for the Hoosiers on Nov. 14 in Madison, Wis.
