Hoosiers Fall at No. 13 Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Junior Amelia Anderson led the Indiana volleyball team with seven kills, but the Hoosiers fell 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 12-25) at No. 13 Nebraska on Saturday.
Junior libero Courtney Harnish recorded seven digs and moved into a tie for eighth on the Hoosiers all-time single-season digs list with 402.
Nebraska came out on fire in the opening set as they connected on 15 kills on 18 attempts. The Hoosiers kept Nebraska from going on long runs but make untimely errors and dropped the first set, 25-14.
The Hoosiers regrouped and used a 4-0 run early in set two to take a 7-5 lead. After Nebraska went without an error in the first set, the Hoosiers forced the Cornhuskers into six errors in set two. Nebraska used a 4-0 run to go up 9-7, but the Hoosiers kept it close and Lebo slammed down a kill to bring the Hoosiers within one at 11-10. Nebraska scored the next three points to take a 14-10 lead.
After an IU timeout, the Hoosiers came back with a kill by senior Morgan Leach and a block by Jazzmine McDonald and Amelia Anderson to get within two at 14-12. Nebraska used another 3-0 spurt to gain momentum and took set two, 25-17.
In set three Nebraska connected on 10 kills on 14 attempts and the Hoosiers made 10 attack errors, as Nebraska won the third set and the match.
Up next the Hoosiers are back home on Wednesday Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. against Rutgers.
