12/9/2014 12:00:00 AM | Cross Country
Olivia Hippensteel (Cross Country) and Clyde Newton (Football) have been named Scholar-Athletes of the month for November.
Olivia Hippensteel – Women’s Cross Country, Sophomore, Human Development and Family Studies major
“As a first year transfer, Olivia has more than exceeded my expectations. She is self-sufficient, has a great attitude, and is a rock star in the classroom. She is the ideal student-athlete, and I know as she grows and matures, she will continue to be a leader and role model for her team.” –Aurea Young, Academic Advisor
Clyde Newton-Football, Sophomore, Liberal Studies Major
“Clyde is a sophomore who has been tremendous this semester. Not only does Clyde have high grades in all classes, but he has put in many hours to go above and beyond. He has shown his teammates what a student athlete should look like and is a great leader on the football team. Regardless of how hard practice is, he will always come in with a great attitude and work ethic. He has shown that with hard work comes great rewards. I am so proud of Clyde!” –Christa Sist-Morris, Assistant Director of Retention and Learning Services.
